Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has condemned an attack by Russian-backed forces on a Ukrainian medical clinic near the city of Donetsk.
According to reports, there was an exchange of fire between the Ukrainian army and the Russian-backed separatists in eastern Ukraine, resulting in one wounded Ukrainian military personnel and 15 other civilians wounded.
In a statement, Zelenskyy condemned the attack as a violation of the Minsk agreements and Ukraine’s ceasefire agreement with the separatist forces. The President called for a negotiated solution to the conflict in eastern Ukraine and expressed his sorrow for the victims of the attack.
He also called on the international community, including the United Nations, to ensure respect for the Minsk agreement and assist in negotiations. Zelenskyy also emphasized that Ukrainian law enforcement is investigating the incident and that those responsible will be held accountable.
