Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s interactions with other world leaders at the Group of Seven (G7) summit in Biarritz, France recently, depicted India’s proactive approach in tackling global challenges. Prime Minister Modi reiterated India’s commitment to addressing global challenges such as terrorism, transnational organised crime, poverty and climate change. In thec special session on combatting terrorism, he highlighted India’s long-standing efforts in the fight against terrorism, and asserted that the country has been a victim of terrorism for long and that it has worked with other nations too, in combatting the issue.
In his address to the summit, PM Modi stressed on the need for collective efforts for global peace and prosperity. He stated that all countries needed to join hands against terrorism, saying that “terror and its flight have no borders”. Prime Minister Modi also called for collective efforts for eliminating effect of climate change and building a clean energy future. He also voiced his support for the reform of the World Trade Organization, to make it more relevant to the modern day.
