Based on a report from the Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD), hotels in Ajman recorded a 3% increase in revenues during the first quarter of 2023, when compared to a year earlier.
The report stated that the average daily rate of the city’s accommodation facilities rose by 1.9%, while the occupancy rate rose by 0.8%. The influx of visitors increased due to the higher number of international investors and businesses in the area.
With a total of 13,528 guest nights in the first three months of the year, Ajman achieved a 79.2% occupancy rate in 2021. This marked a 4.4 percentage-point increase in comparison to 2020. The ATDD attributes the positive trend to the promotion of the emirate as a top tourist destination, as well as the increased number of attractions in the area.
Tourism is an important economic contributor to Ajman, and the government is committed to the development and promotion of the sector. It is expected that this increase in income of hotels will be sustained throughout the upcoming quarters, as more tourists are expected to visit the emirate, encouraged by the growing number of attractions and strong promotional campaigns.
