To date, there have been no human trials of Neuralink implants. Neuralink’s most recent announcement, made in August 2020, is the development of brain implant technology that uses micro-surgery robots and flexible “threads” to attach a small electronics package, including electrodes, to the brain. Animal tests have been conducted, but there have been no human trials. Neuralink has stated that they will seek FDA approval to begin the first human trials in the near future.
