Two people were killed and a suspect was fatally shot by police in a shooting in Rhode Island on Tuesday.
According to a statement from Rhode Island State Police, officers responded to a report of shots fired in Pawtucket, R.I., around 7:45 p.m. Upon arriving at the scene, officers encountered a suspect who reportedly opened fire. The officers returned fire, fatally striking the suspect.
Two people were found dead at the scene, police said. Their identities have not been released.
At least one other person was injured in the shooting.
Police did not provide additional details about the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
