More than 100 firefighters have been deployed to Fire and Rescue NSW’s biggest fire in more than a decade after a blaze broke out in a seven-storey luxury apartment block in central Sydney. At least 30 people have been evacuated from neighbouring buildings and the blaze has already spread to neighbouring properties. Firefighters have been working throughout the night to contain the blaze. A number of roads have been closed as fire crews battle the blaze which is now in its seventh hour. Fire crews will remain at the scene as they attempt to control the blaze and ensure the safety of nearby residents. Early investigations suggest the blaze started in a third-floor unit.
