Chinese and Russian relations are at a “unprecedented high level,” according to the Russian PM

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said on Thursday that ties between Russia and China had reached an unprecedentedly high level.

Medvedev made the remark at a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Moscow.

“The cooperation between our countries can be called an example of forming a new type of relations in the 21st century,” Medvedev said. “Our relations go far beyond the usual mutual trust and friendship, they are at an unprecedentedly high level.”

Medvedev also noted that Moscow and Beijing had noted positive dynamics in the development of their bilateral ties. He praised the joint projects that have been launched between Russia and China, highlighting the active collaboration in the spheres of politics, economics, culture and science.

In response, Xi also noted the positive dynamics in the ties between Moscow and Beijing. He thanked Russia for its consistent support of China and said that the two countries will continue to strengthen their cooperation.
