Imran Khan, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, has deleted a tweet in which he accused an “agency man” of provoking his workers. The tweet, which was posted on Wednesday, read, “Some agency man is provoking my workers in Baluchistan and I am being informed. This is a serious security issue and will not be tolerated.”
The tweet, which was posted without any explanation, was met with criticism by many Pakistanis who questioned Khan’s use of language and the lack of details provided in the tweet.
Following the backlash, Khan later deleted the tweet and issued a statement apologising for the incident. In his statement, the Prime Minister highlighted that he respects the rule of law and any violation of the same will be dealt with strongly. He also requested that the matter be investigated and that the guilty be brought to justice.
