A report published by the Associated Press on Thursday revealed that the Trump family did not disclose 17 gifts they received from India during their visit to the country in February. The gifts, which included a pair of gold and diamond-studded watches, an ornamental elephant and silver boxes, were received from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other Indian officials.
The report noted that the U.S. Office of Government Ethics requires that all gifts from foreign governments be reported to the government. However, according to the AP, the report detailing the gifts was not included in the financial disclosure forms of President Donald Trump and his family members.
The gifts were reported to have been given to Ivanka Trump, her husband Jared Kushner, and their children. The report also noted that the gifts were not listed on the disclosure forms of the president’s other family members, including Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump.
The report comes as the Trump family is facing scrutiny over its business dealings in India. The family has come under fire for its ties to Indian government officials and real estate developers, who have sought to benefit financially from the Trump family’s presence in the country.
