Two individuals in Hong Kong have been arrested for allegedly possessing a children’s book deemed “seditious” by authorities. The book, titled “The Little Yellow Duck”, has been described as promoting pro-independence views. The two individuals, aged 33 and 35, were arrested for possession and distribution of a seditious publication.
The book, which was allegedly distributed to primary school students, contains messages such as “I can’t take off the yellow ribbon, I’m not afraid”, a reference to the yellow ribbons worn by pro-democracy protesters. The arrests come after a series of arrests by the Hong Kong police targeting pro-democracy activists, including those associated with the publishing of the book.
