Imran Khan’s arrest warrant is suspended by a Pakistani court

On June 6th, 2018, a Pakistani court suspended an arrest warrant for former cricketer and current Prime Minister Imran Khan. The warrant was issued by the Anti-Terrorism Court in Islamabad, after Khan failed to appear in court to face charges of inciting violence during a rally in 2014. Khan’s lawyers argued that the warrant was issued without proper procedure and was therefore invalid. The court accepted this argument and suspended the warrant. Khan’s legal team has also filed a petition to have the charges against him dropped.
