An Indian-origin woman has been convicted by a UK court of multiple frauds involving shoplifting and obtaining goods and services without paying for them. Hiralbhai Prabhudas, of east London, was found guilty of six counts of fraud, theft and false representation, following a trial at Wood Green Crown Court.
Prabhudas, 44, had admitted to the offences, which took place between October 2019 and February 2020, at a hearing in August. The court heard that Prabhudas had stolen items from stores in east London, then used her debit card to obtain goods and services without paying. Prabhudas, who has a previous conviction for shoplifting, was sentenced to two years and seven months’ imprisonment.
