Indian-origin Assistant Secretary of the US Air Force Ravi Chaudhary has been confirmed

Indian-origin Ravi Chaudhary has been confirmed as the assistant secretary of the US Air Force. Chaudhary was nominated by US President Donald Trump in October 2020 and his appointment was approved by the US Senate on February 9, 2021. He is the first Indian-American to be appointed to this position.

Chaudhary is a veteran of the US Air Force, having served in the service for over 21 years. He has also served in the Air Force Reserve for over 18 years. He has extensive experience in the fields of finance, acquisition and logistics, and has held numerous leadership positions in the Air Force.

He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas and a Master of Business Administration from the University of California, Los Angeles. He is also a graduate of the US Air Force Air War College.

In his new role, Chaudhary will be responsible for overseeing the financial management and resources of the US Air Force, including budgeting and acquisition of new technologies. He will also work to ensure the Air Force’s mission readiness and cost effectiveness.
