When protesters yelled “Down with monarchy” and “Not my king,” Prince William yelled back

Prince William was heckled by a group of protesters who shouted “Down with monarchy” and “Not my king” during a visit to an East London college. The incident occurred at a visit to the Barking and Dagenham College, where the Duke of Cambridge was meeting students and staff.

The group of anti-monarchy protesters reportedly shouted the slogans as the Duke was making his way into the college. The incident was captured on video and posted on social media.

In the video, the protesters can be heard shouting: “Down with monarchy, not my king.” The Duke, who was flanked by security officers, did not appear to react to the protesters as he made his way inside the college.

The protesters later dispersed without any incident. It is not clear who the protesters were, or what their motive was.

The college has since released a statement condemning the protesters’ actions, saying that the Duke of Cambridge was made to feel welcome and that the college “unequivocally supports the monarchy.”
