The Lahore High Court (LHC) has suspended police operations to arrest Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan till 10 am tomorrow. A division bench of the LHC on Monday issued the order while hearing a petition filed by the PTI seeking the suspension of a police operation to arrest Khan, who is in Lahore.
The petition stated that the police were planning to arrest Khan without any lawful justification. It added that the police had no legal authority to carry out any operation to arrest the PTI chief.
The court was informed that the police had already conducted raids at several PTI offices and residences in Lahore and other cities.
The court ordered the police to suspend all operations pertaining to the arrest of Khan till Wednesday at 10 am and adjourned the hearing till then.
The court also directed the police to submit a detailed report about the raids conducted in the past two days.
