Fawad Chaudhry requests that the Chief Justice of Pakistan order an end to police activity around Imran Khan’s home.

Fawad Chaudhry, the Minister for Information and Broadcasting, has urged Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar to take notice of the police operations taking place outside the residence of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.

Chaudhry said that the police should not be allowed to use excessive force against the protesters outside Imran Khan’s residence. He said that the police have been using tear gas and rubber bullets against the protesters, and that this is unacceptable.

Chaudhry said that the Chief Justice should take notice of the situation and halt the police operations in order to ensure that the people’s rights are protected. He said that the police should not be allowed to use force against peaceful protesters as it is against the law.

Chaudhry’s statement comes as tensions between the police and the protesters outside Imran Khan’s residence have been escalating in recent days. The police have been using force to try and disperse the protesters who have been staging a sit-in outside Imran Khan’s residence since August 14.
