The Government of India has appointed Hifzur Rehman as the next Ambassador of India to Chad. He is an Indian Foreign Service (IFS) Officer of the 1998 batch. He is currently posted as the Director in the Ministry of External Affairs.
Rehman has previously served in various capacities in Indian diplomatic missions in China, Germany, and Iraq. He has also served as the Deputy Chief of Mission in Mexico. He holds a Masters degree in Defence and Strategic Studies from the Madras University and a Masters in English from the Aligarh Muslim University.
