A 23-year-old Indian student, who was seriously injured during an armed robbery in the US, has died, according to media reports.
The victim, identified as Sandeep Singh, was studying engineering at the University of Central Florida in Orlando.
According to reports, Singh was shot in the chest on the night of 11 March when he and two other students were involved in a robbery at a 7-Eleven store in Orlando.
The other two students managed to escape unharmed but Singh was shot in the chest and was rushed to the Orlando Regional Medical Center.
He was in critical condition and was placed on life support. However, he succumbed to his wounds on Wednesday night.
The Indian Consulate in Atlanta is reportedly in touch with Singh’s family and is providing them assistance.
The Orlando Police Department has launched an investigation into the incident and is yet to identify the suspect.
