Pakistani PM Imran Khan’s party senior leader Fawad Chaudhry was arrested in his own home today. The former interior minister and the representative of his political party has been arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on summons issued by a local court.
Mr. Fawad Chaudhry, the head of Pakistan’s main opposition party and a senior government minister was reportedly arrested at his mother’s home in Lahore on Tuesday night by around 30 officers who also seized four telephones and computers. The whereabouts of Khan and other senior party officials are unclear as they have not been seen in public since they were rounded up by security officials
Pakistan’s interior minister has “arrested” the country’s deputy prime minister. Fawad Chaudhry was reported to have been detained by the police, according to local media reports on Monday. The condition of the politician is not known but there are fears he may be ill as he does not appear in public since last year when Pakistan general elections were held for the first time in July 2018.
