Fawad Chaudhry of Pakistan is detained as PTI supporters rush to ‘defend’ Imran Khan

Fawad Chaudhry is currently detained by Pakistani authorities, following the news that a group of supporters of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party had gathered outside the residence of Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad. The incident reportedly occurred after Chaudhry, the party’s information minister, was denied entry into the premises.

Chaudhry had been invited to the prime minister’s residence to attend an event related to the government’s efforts to help the country’s small and medium-sized businesses. However, upon arriving, he was denied access and told to leave.

This reportedly led to a group of PTI supporters gathering outside the residence and chanting slogans in support of the prime minister. The group, which was reportedly led by a PTI lawmaker, was eventually dispersed by police.

Chaudhry was detained as a result of the incident, and is currently being held in an undisclosed location. It is unclear at this time if he has been charged with any crime.
