Seven people have been killed and one other injured in a shooting at a dance hall in California, police have said.
The shooting took place at the Los Cazadores dance hall in Fresno, California, at around 1.30am on Sunday morning. Fresno Police Chief Andy Hall said that the shooter had opened fire on a large crowd of people attending the dance hall.
Hall said that the gunman had fled the scene, and that police were still searching for him. He added that the motive for the shooting was not yet known.
The injured person is in a stable condition in hospital and is expected to recover.
Police said that they were looking into whether the shooting was gang-related, and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
This is the latest in a series of mass shootings in the US, with at least 8 people killed in shootings in recent weeks.
