Half Moon Bay, California, shootout results in 7 deaths; shooter is in jail

On November 6th, 2020, a shooting in Half Moon Bay, California, resulted in seven deaths and one person injured. The shooter, identified as Alberto Alvarez, was taken into custody after the incident.

The shooting occurred at a residence in the Miramontes Point area of Half Moon Bay at around 10:30 pm. Upon arriving at the scene, police found seven deceased individuals, including a teenager and a baby. One other person was injured and taken to a nearby hospital.

Alvarez is being charged with seven counts of murder and one count of attempted murder. He is currently being held in the San Mateo County Jail without bail.

The motive of the shooting is still under investigation.
