An Indian student studying in London has gone viral after he unfurled a Karnataka state flag at a graduation ceremony.
The video of the student, named Prashanth, who was studying in the University of West London, was shared on social media by a friend.
In the video, Prashanth can be seen walking across the stage during the graduation ceremony, carrying the bright orange flag of Karnataka. He proudly unfurls it in the air as the audience, mostly other Indian students, cheer him on.
The video has since been viewed thousands of times, with many social media users praising Prashanth’s gesture and lauding him for representing his home state with pride.
Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa also praised Prashanth’s gesture and said that he was proud to see young people like him making a mark in the world.
Prashanth’s gesture has inspired many other students to share photos and videos of themselves representing their home states at graduation ceremonies and other events.
