Ten people were killed in a shooting in California during the Chinese Lunar New Year celebrations

At least 10 people were killed and 12 others injured in a shooting at a Chinese Lunar New Year celebration in Fresno, California, on Sunday night.

The Fresno Police Department said that the incident occurred around 8:45 p.m. local time in the city’s southeast area.

Police Chief Andy Hall said in a news conference that officers responded to a report of multiple gunshots being fired. When they arrived, they found multiple victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

The victims were taken to a local hospital, where 10 of them were pronounced dead. The remaining 12 were treated for their injuries.

Hall said that the attack was not an act of terrorism and that the shooter was still at large. He also said that the motive for the attack was still under investigation.

The police chief described the attack as a “horrific, tragic incident” and said that the police department was doing everything it could to bring the suspect to justice. He also said that the department was working with state and federal law enforcement partners to investigate the shooting.
