California mass shooting: Suspect is no longer sought as shooter passes away from a self-inflicted wound

Authorities in California have ended their search for a suspect in a mass shooting in which four people were killed and four others injured. The suspected gunman, a 19-year-old man, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound after fleeing the scene.

The shooting occurred at around 11am on Saturday at a home in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) said they received reports of a shooting and responded to the scene.

When officers arrived, they found four people dead and four others injured. All of the victims were adults. The suspect had fled the scene, and an extensive search involving the LAPD, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and other law enforcement agencies was launched.

The suspect was located several hours later in a nearby city, where he was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The motive for the shooting remains unknown, and the identities of the victims have not been released. The LAPD said the investigation is ongoing.
