The coronation of King Charles III will take place in Westminster Abbey on Saturday 19th June 2021. The event is being organised by Buckingham Palace and will be the first coronation of a British monarch for nearly 70 years.
A procession will take place from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey, followed by a service of anointing, coronation and thanksgiving. Following the service, the King will make his way back to Buckingham Palace in a horse-drawn carriage.
The event will be broadcast live on television and radio, as well as streamed on the Royal Family’s official website.
The event will be attended by world leaders, members of the Royal Family, and other dignitaries.
Public access to the event will be limited, but the Royal Family has said that “a limited number of members of the public will be able to view the procession and State entrance to Westminster Abbey from designated areas.”
Further details will be released closer to the date of the coronation.
