New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern claims she has no regrets about her resignation

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has said she has no regrets over her decision to step down from her role as Prime Minister of New Zealand.

In a recent interview, Ardern said she was “really proud” of her government’s record over the past three and a half years, and the gains they had made in areas such as housing and child poverty.

When asked if she had any regrets about her decision to step down, Ardern said: “No, I don’t. I felt that the time was right for me to move on and give someone else the opportunity to take up the role.”

Ardern also said she had no regrets about the way she handled the COVID-19 pandemic, saying that the country’s “decisive” response had been successful in containing the virus.

She said she was “incredibly proud” of the way New Zealanders had responded to the pandemic, and that the country had proven “we can do extraordinary things” when it comes to tackling crises.
