India pledged to increase investment in Sri Lanka, which is through a crisis

India is committed to boosting investment in crisis-hit Sri Lanka, India’s High Commissioner to Colombo Taranjit Singh Sandhu said on May 15, 2021.

Sandhu said India was committed to helping Sri Lanka revive its economy, which has been hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic. He said India was keen to support Sri Lanka in its efforts to attract foreign investment and revive the economy, and that he was confident that Indian businesses would be involved in the process.

Sandhu said India was also keen to help Sri Lanka upgrade its infrastructure. He said India was providing $400 million to support Sri Lanka’s infrastructure and other projects. He added that India was exploring opportunities to invest in the Colombo Port City, the largest infrastructure project in Sri Lanka.

Sandhu said that India was interested in helping Sri Lanka boost its tourism sector and was willing to support the tourism industry in the country. He said India was also interested in investing in other sectors, such as agriculture, healthcare, education and information technology.

Sandhu said that India was ready to create a strong economic partnership with Sri Lanka and was committed to helping the country revive its economy.
