Reliance Jio reported its highest-ever quarterly profit of ₹4,638 crore in Q3, a 28% increase from the previous quarter. This was mainly due to a sharp rise in data usage and customer base.
The company reported a total revenue of ₹17,481 crore for the quarter, up 32.9% from the same period last year. The average revenue per user (ARPU) also rose to ₹154, up from ₹126 in the previous quarter.
The company’s customer base rose to 371.6 million in the quarter, up 5.2% year-on-year. The average data consumption per user increased to 11.7GB, up from 9.5GB in the quarter ended June 2020.
Jio’s total wireless data traffic increased by 40.5% year-on-year to 1,039 crore GB. The company’s total voice traffic also rose by 8.7% to 88,928 crore minutes.
The company’s total employee cost for the quarter ended September 2020 stood at ₹3,226 crore, up 25.9% from the same period last year.
