At least eight people are dead after an avalanche in Tibet, according to a report from China’s official Xinhua News Agency.
The avalanche occurred on Sunday in a mountainous area of Lhokha City in the Tibet Autonomous Region. The report stated that five people were rescued from the avalanche, and an additional nine people are still missing.
Rescue and search operations are still being conducted, and local authorities have set up relief efforts for those affected by the avalanche.
