Tons of of cops have been deployed on the streets surrounding a synagogue within the western-German metropolis of Hagen, amid warnings of a “risk” to the constructing. The alert comes on the Jewish holy day of Yom Kippur.
“We at the moment have indications of a doable harmful state of affairs in reference to a Jewish facility in Hagen,” police within the neighboring metropolis of Dortmund said on Wednesday night. “Police protecting measures have been tailored accordingly,” the assertion continued, including: “We’re in shut contact with the Jewish neighborhood.”

A police spokesperson advised Reuters shortly afterwards that officers had been responding to an unspecified “risk” to the constructing.
The character of the risk stays unclear, however pictures taken by the Westfalenpost, an area newspaper, present closely armed officers patrolling close by streets, which have been closed to site visitors. Westfalenpost claims that “a whole lot” of cops are participating within the operation.
